Please note: The Boyne Island Environmental Education Centre hires a bare site to community groups. As we are a Queensland Education facility, our teaching staff are only available to school groups during term. We do not run programs during the school holidays. Go here for hiring of our bare facilities.
Booking Process
Step 1 - How can we add value to your curriculum? Choose your program.
Refer to your current curriculum program (Australian Curriculum) to see if there is a particular BIEEC day visit program, short course or residential experience which supports your school curriculum needs.
Refer to our Curriculum plan 2024 (PDF, 497kb) to view your program options. All programs have been strategically and carefully developed to target specific learning outcomes for your students.
Step 2 - Make a Booking
All applications for bookings must be submitted via the
online booking page. Please consider program type (residential experience, day visit, short course, or community group booking), suitable dates with alternatives and transport options prior to submitting an application. We always endeavour to satisfy our client's choice, however please understand there are many schools accessing our services.
Step 3 - Confirmation of Booking

Acknowledgment of booking - an email will be sent to acknowledge your booking application

Allocation of dates - you will be notified your allocated dates including our Fee Schedule 2024 (PDF, 223kb) and Cancellation/alteration policy (PDF, 230kb) for your visit. They will be emailed to you as well as the contact details of your program coordinator.

Visit preparation - Your program coordinator will contact you with all the required documentation and liaise with you regarding the program itinerary, students needs, consent forms, risk assessments and catering
For residential experience bookings only: -
Virtual pre-visit - your program coordinator will arrange a suitable time to conduct a pre-visit which includes a virtual meet and greet with all the required information for students and teachers.
Step 4 - Pre-program organisation
Before your visit you will be required to have the following forms completed. Please bring them with you on arrival of your visit:

Catering - We recommend The Junction Cafe for your catering but you are encouraged to seek your own quotes. If you choose to employ The Junction, please find here menu options and contact details (PDF, 92KB). However, your school is responsible for all direct correspondence with the caterer. Please note: the external caterer supplies, cooks and serves food but your school group is responsible for setting up before and cleaning up after each meal.
